Callie Steva

In the words of Callie Steva, receiving a scholarship provides a “stepping stone toward realizing my full potential and achieving my life goals”. That is what the PH Balance Scholarship is meant to do as well as to remind our recipients that we understand their loss and are proud of their resilience. and desire to move forward in life.

Callie lost her father, a teacher, to heart problems in 2016 just when a young girl needs her daddy the most. Calllie is from Perry High School with a desire to continue her education at UNI with a major in education following in the footsteps of both of her parents. Leadership and compassion for others are two qualities that came through loud and clear in her letters of recommendation. She has demonstrated a care for others, especially those who seem to be struggling with some of life’s challenges and lets them know they are not alone. She understands. We all know how important empathy for others is in the classroom. Callie has been active in many sports, clubs, and school activities while maintaining exemplary grades. IRSPA wishes Callie much success in her future.
